VPN Client Setup Instructions

## Windows XP OS :

1. Open Network Connections in your Control Panel
2. Click "File -> New Connection.." and Click Next on the first screen
3. Click the "Connect to the network at my workplace" radio button and click next
4. Choose "Virtual Private Network Connection" and click Next
5. Type a name for the connection, eg "SSM VPN" and click Next
6. Choose "Do not dial an initial connection" and click Next
7. Enter Hostname "vpn.smartsearchmarketing.com" and click Next
8. Enter username "barry"
9. Enter password "dx8jn39d"
10. Click the "Properties" button before logging in.
11. Click the "Networking" tab at the top
12. Double click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
13. Click the "Advanced" button
14. Uncheck the box for "Use default gateway on remote network".
15. Click OK on all open windows until you get back to the login screen.
16. Click "Connect"


## Windows Vista/Windows 7 OS:

1. From the Start Menu, right click on Network, select Properties. This will open the Network and Sharing Center
2. On the left side, click on Set up a connection or network
3. Select Connect to a workplace
4. Click on the Next button
5. Select Use my Internet connection (VPN)
6. Replace the Example with "vpn.carbonlogic.com.
7. You can also change the name from VPN Connection to something that is more meaningful.
8. Click on the Next button
9. Enter your Username and Password for the VPN server
10. Now from the Network and Sharing Center, you can go to Manage Network Connections to see the new VPN connection.
11. Right click on your VPN connection and choose “properties”
12. Click on the “Networking” tab
13. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click the "Properties" button
14. Under the General Tab, click the "Advanced" button.
15. In the IP Settings Tab, UNCHECK "use default gateway on remote network"
16. Click "OK" on all remaining screens.

HP iLO Connect Instructions:

1. Once connected to the CarbonLogic VPN system, open a web browser
2. Point your browser to the iLO hostname provided earlier
3. Accept any SSL Certificate errors (i.e. "Continue to this Website")
4. Login with the credentials provided in the last email.
5. The Virtual Power button controls Power Cycle, On, Off, Reset
6. The Remote Console allows you to watch non-graphical boot sequences like your POST/BIOS
7. Remote console with graphical access to the post-boot Windows GUI over console carries an additional licensing fee from HP
